Bone augmentation

In DaVinci Dental Clinic we often encounter diagnosis cases, where teeth are missing for a long time, which can lead to the loss of masticatory load and bone tissue. The main problem is the inability to quickly restore teeth.

The bone (sufficient bone volume) is required for a dental implant successful installation, which must be completely covered and firmly fixed in it. The dental implant performs the function of the root of the tooth on which the crown will be installed in the future.

Therefore, like a tooth, it must withstand as much load as your own organ.

How do we perform bone augmentation

We use the most modern, minimally traumatic and microsurgical methods and tools for bone grafting in dentistry. Bone augmentation occurs in both height and width, using world-renowned products and stable, documented, scientifically proven results. Namely:

  • collagen self-absorbing membranes and bone material BioOss by the Swiss company Geistlich;
  • Swiss dental implants by Straumann.

What is sinus lifting

We also perform sinus lifting - bone augmentation of the maxillary sinus. There are many formations that perform different functions in a human skull. The maxillary and paranasal sinuses are used for good breathing and air circulation. They are lined with strong mucous membranes, which for doctors are a material for creating a coupling around the bone-plastic material. Thus, due to the short access to the "bone window", the surgeon lifts the membrane and introduces biomaterial, which serves as a framework for the formation of your own bone tissue.

When is sinus lift applied?

In cases where the bone height in the area of the maxillary sinus plastics is 4 millimeters or more, the surgeon has the opportunity to immediately install a dental implant. In other cases, such an operation is performed separately, and dental implantation happens in 6-8 months.

With a pronounced loss of alveolar bone tissue (the part of the jaw in which the teeth are located), surgeons perform more complicated and complex surgical techniques. The framework for the formation of new bone tissue are tissues taken from the patient from other areas, called the autograft.

The collection of such grafts is usually performed from other parts of the lower jaw such as chin, angle or ramus. But in cases of volumetric reconstruction, autograft can be taken from any part of the body.

Sinus lifting benefits

Such plastics give us the opportunity to create good conditions for the installation and operation of artificial analogues of the tooth root, but at the same time prolongs the rehabilitation period. To avoid difficult surgical interventions, bone grafts, DaVinci Dental surgeons work with different systems of dental implants and successfully select them even in difficult cases. Different systems differ in size, length, diameter, surface and ability to integrate quickly.

That is why, even with large losses of bone, we can quickly restore the lost defect. Because every day lived without a tooth affects the quality of our lives:

  • efficiency of chewing;
  • clarity of pronunciation;
  • ability to smile and lead a full social life;
  • even the taste of food changes.
